German PV inverter manufacturer SMA will shed 425 full time jobs or about 13 percent of its global workforce, reports Becky Beetz for pv magazine. More than 100 of these positions are based in Germany, and more than 300 in foreign locations. The company will also leave China and refocus its efforts in Germany, according to the report. SMA cited sharp price declines and the market downturn in China resulting in excess capacities.
